Welcome to Catholic Galena, IL

Catholicism

For

Adults

Catholicism has the power to change your life.
Would you like to better understand the power of Catholicism and how it applies to your life?   Then please come join other adults to learn more about our Catholic faith and to discuss your experiences of it.

Each session of Catholicism for Adults will begin with a video produced by the Augustine Institute in Denver.  The videos feature leading teachers of the Catholic faith.

The videos are beautifully done, and have been filmed on location in Rome, India and other places.  The videos will serve as a springboard for discussion and reflection.

Each session of “Catholicism for Adults” tackles a different topic—including, for example:

·        God's Mercy Revealed

·        Virtue, Grace and the Path to Happiness

·        Discovering Authentic Love

·        Protecting the Dignity of the Human Person

Starting on November 5th and ending in early May, there will be 10 sessions on Saturday mornings in the St. Mary Church basement (Bally Hall) from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.  Toward the end of each session, we will go up into St. Mary’s Church for a few minutes of prayer and reflection.

These are stand-alone sessions.  So, if you miss one or more sessions, you can always go to the next one and it will be perfectly understandable.

John Scott, a parishioner who lead this program last year and who has served as a catechist at St. Mary's and St. Michael's for the past 10 years, will lead the program again this year.

We will have free coffee, donuts and cookies.  The program and materials are also free.

To sign up or for more information, please contact John Scott at jjscottjr@hotmail.com or 773-610-4385 or Heidi O’Shea at re@catholicgalena.com or 815-541-4528.  Please feel free to text.
